Questions merchants ask before connecting Shopify and Odoo

Are hidden line item properties (the ones starting with an underscore) included?

Yes. Hidden properties are included by default so internal references like subscription IDs or configurator output reach Odoo. Merchants who only want customer-visible properties can toggle hidden ones off in the configuration.

Where on the Odoo sale order line do the properties appear?

By default the properties are appended to the line description / note field so they show in standard Odoo views with no custom development needed. Merchants on customised Odoo setups can map them to a dedicated custom field instead.

Do properties from third-party apps (subscriptions, bundles, customizers) sync too?

Yes. Any line item property attached to the Shopify line — whether the customer typed it, your theme injected it, or an app added it — is read from the Shopify Order API and forwarded.

Are multi-line property values handled?

Yes. Property values that contain line breaks are kept as multi-line text so engraving notes or addresses remain readable in Odoo.
